As the year winds down and the holiday season kicks into full swing, we wanted to take a moment to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We’re excited for what’s to come in 2026 but before we all head off to enjoy some well-deserved holiday cheer, here’s a quick update on our holiday hours and important dates regarding our annual Network Freeze you’ll want to know about.

Network Freeze
Blacknight will implement a Network Operations Freeze for the Christmas and New Year period 2025/2026 commencing 5pm on Friday, December 12th 2025 until at 8am Thursday, January 5th 2025, with a cooldown period commencing close of business Friday 6th December.
During the Network Operations Freeze only emergency maintenance will be permitted on the Blacknight network. No services requiring the installation or configuration of circuits, vlans, network equipment etc., will be undertaken during this period and no works that involve any Blacknight services will be scheduled to take place.
During the cooldown period we will endeavour to fulfil any outstanding orders, however we may not be able to guarantee equipment delivery from suppliers due to the Christmas period logistics delays.
For emergency outages we will have engineers on call throughout the Christmas period, and service availability will be monitored as normal.
For broadband services, our partners will also be engaged in a freeze period during this time therefore, we cannot guarantee any delivery of new services until the new year.
.IE Domains
Online domain sales will continue as normal, but please note that .IE domains require manual approval from the .IE Domain Registry (formerly the IEDR). The registry will be taking a break on December 24th, 25th, and 26th, so no .IE confirmations can be processed on those days. They’ll be back open on December 29th from 9am to 5:30pm, and on December 30th and 31st from 9am to 1pm. If you’re planning to register a .IE domain over the holiday period, keep these hours in mind to avoid any delays.
