Windows Shared Hosting Plans Have Been Shut Down

A while ago, we announced that we would be discontinuing Windows-based shared hosting. The day has passed, and we switched off those servers on November 21st.

Shared Windows Hosting Deprecation

As of the 21st of November 2022, we decommissioned any remaining Windows shared hosting plans on our systems. The owners of any Windows plans have been previously contacted via email multiple times this year in relation to this process (check your spam folders!).

How will this affect me?

If you still had an active Windows Minimus, Medius, or Maximus plan, we created a Linux plan of the same type with the same expiration date and switched DNS, database, and email services over to it. Website files and services were not copied, and any content will no longer be available. Websites, as per previous emails, have been offline since August.

Services affected by this:

If you are using the OX webmail system (ox.blacknight.com): The switching process reset any custom configurations in the OX interface, such as Contacts, Calendars, and Signatures.

If you were paying for SpamExperts access, it was not copied and was canceled along with the Windows plan. Please let us know if you want to purchase it again on the new plan, though no settings can be copied.

There was no downtime to any DNS, databases, or email during the switch, and you do not need to change any login details.

What do I need to do?

If you were using your Windows plan for any email, DNS, or database services and wish to cancel the ‘new’ Linux plan, please contact us. Otherwise, you don’t need to take any action.
