Sunsetting Entry Level Windows Hosting

For many small businesses choosing between Linux and Windows powered hosting has always been a source of confusion.

Windows hosting makes perfect sense if you, or your developer, is building web applications using ASP.NET or leveraging other technologies that are specific to a Microsoft stack.

If you know the difference between MS SQL and Maria DB then you probably know which stack to use.

But if you just want to setup a simple website, which will probably run on WordPress, then Linux not only works fine, it’s probably a better option.

Will Blacknight stop offering Windows hosting?

Of course not.

We are a Microsoft partner and offer Windows powered solutions on our VPS cloud server plans as well as on dedicated servers.

So what is changing?

Starting today we will no longer accept new signups for Windows on our entry level plans.
