At Blacknight, keeping your online assets safe is one of our highest priorities. As cyber-security threats continue to rise, strong account protection has never been more important. That’s why, starting early January, we will be introducing mandatory Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for all Blacknight accounts (aka your Blacknight control panel).
This upgrade strengthens your login security and helps ensure that only authorised users can access your services, domains, and billing information.
Why We’re Enabling Mandatory 2FA
2FA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorised access, even if someone manages to obtain your password. Over recent months, we, like many providers, have seen increased fraudulent activity targeting online accounts. Adding a second step to the login process is one of the most effective defences against these attacks.
With mandatory 2FA, every login requires:
- Your password
- A one-time authentication code from your mobile device
This simple extra step provides a major boost in security.
What You Need to Do
Before January, we recommend taking a few minutes to set up 2FA on your Blacknight account. You’ll need an authenticator app such as:
- Google Authenticator
- Authy
- Duo
If you already use an authenticator app, you’re good to go—setup will be fast.

What Happens in January?
Starting from this date:
- You will be prompted automatically to set up 2FA when logging in (if not already enabled).
- 2FA will be required to access your account.
- Each login will require your email, password, and one-time code.
This ensures that all Blacknight accounts have strong, modern protection in place.
New: Add Multiple Users to Your Account—Securely
Alongside our security improvements, our new control panel now lets you add multiple users to your Blacknight account. This means you don’t need to share a single login among staff, clients, or developers.
Each user can have:
- Their own secure credentials
- Individual access permissions
- A safer and more traceable way to manage your services
