We’ve got a busy month of events coming up at Blacknight, starting with TBEX Europe 2017, in Killarney, Co Kerry, for which we are a sponsor.
It’s appropriate that an international conference on travel and tourism is being held in Killarney. Nowadays, Ireland’s tourist industry is well developed, and the success of campaigns such as the Wild Atlantic Way and the Ancient East has brought a new level of sophistication to destination marketing.
But Killarney is arguably where it started. Almost inaccessible, via bog roads, until the railway came in 1853, word of its natural beauty spread fast, and started a tourism boom. Within a year the number of hotels in the town had doubled and Queen Victoria visited in 1864; the place has never been the same since.
Growing up near Killarney, we enjoyed the party atmosphere: entertainment, nightclubs, and major events. Nowadays, other towns have rightly claimed their place on visitors’ itineraries, and Killarney has learned to innovate and lead in new ways.
Now there is a new era of media and marketing, exemplified by the conference being held from 3 – 5 October next week at the INEC at the Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney. TBEX is the world’s largest gathering of travel bloggers, writers, content creators and travel industry professionals.
Blacknight is a sponsor and exhibitor at TBEX Europe. We’re looking forward to meeting bloggers and travel industry representatives and welcoming them to Ireland.
We’ve partnered with the .BLOG domain registry for the event, and tomorrow we’ll announce an exclusive offer for delegates at the conference. Some late tickets are still available if you are plan to attend, and for those who are already registered, why not make a date to come and talk to us about domains, hosting and our other services at TBEX Europe 2017.
We’ll be busy blogging ourselves, posting video and social media updates in the lead up to TBEX and over the week ahead. It’s going to be a good one!
