Tuesday the 29th of November is GivingTuesGAY, where the non-profit organisation, GivingTuesday, inspires people worldwide to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Throughout the entire day, for every .GAY domain registered with Blacknight, Top Level Design (the .GAY registry) will donate every cent they get from it to GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) and CenterLink (The Community of LGBTQ Centers).
Before GivingTuesGAY and when the day is over, the registry donates 20%, but have decided to jump to 100%, in alliance with the community. To date, the organisation has raised and donated over $167,000 (€161,934.05)! We also donate €1 from each registration to the Irish LGBTQ+ charity BelongTo.org.
Registering the .GAY domain allows you to create a website and blog, and set up a professional email address such as yourbusiness.gay. This means you can share your story and spread activism for the community in a safe space. Top Level Design has established a Rights Protection policy that exists to establish .GAY as an LGBTQ+ friendly internet space with a robust set of enforceable policies and procedures that discourages homophobia and anti-LGBTQ usage.
