No Price Hikes, Just Reliable Broadband Blacknight Keeps It Simple!

Say Goodbye to Surprises—And Those Pesky Price Increases!

It’s that time of year once again where April is fast approaching, and for many broadband customers in Ireland, it’s the arrival of yet another price hike. Some providers announced increases to happen every April, that can add up over time. Let us show you how to stay clear of these rises, and how Blacknight can help.

The Broadband Provider that Keeps it Real

At Blacknight we keep things simple and fair. The price you sign up for is the price you’ll keep with no surprise hikes, no inflation-based increases, and no hidden fees. We believe in delivering reliable, high-speed broadband at a fair price, and we’re not about to change that.

Here’s what makes us stand out:

  • Fixed Monthly Rate: No introductory offers, or surprise inflation costs.
  • Flexible Contracts: Choose from a 6-month contract or a plan that suits your needs.
  • No Hidden Fees: What you see is what you pay, as simple as that.
  • Customer-Focused: We reward our existing customers with a discount.

The Reasons for Price Increases

Most providers are hiking their prices every April, and you might be asking yourself: “Why now?” Well, there are a few common reasons for these hikes:

  1. Inflation (CPI): Providers often use the Consumer Price Index to justify price increases.
  2. Fixed Percentage Increases: Some contracts include a set percentage bump each year.
  3. CPI + Fixed Percentage: Others combine both, meaning more increases to your bill.

These increases add up over time. Imagine you sign up for a 62.17 plan, and over 24 months, your monthly bill creeps up to €74.38. You could end up paying €217.83 more in just two years.

Broadband Usage in Ireland

The broadband usage in Ireland is growing rapidly as seen in the latest ComReg Q4 2024 report:

  • 5% of broadband users now have speeds of 500Mbps or faster, up from 44% last year.
  • Monthly data usage is up by 14% for re
sidential customers and 24% for businesses.
  • Over 51% of fixed broadband lines are now fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP).
  • Gigabit broadband is now available at 85% of Irish premises and is growing rapidly.

Tips to Avoid Getting Stuck with Yearly Increases

  • Read Your Contract: Check your broadband terms to see if price increases are built in.
  • Switch Providers: When your contract ends, shop around for better options.
  • Look for Fixed Pricing: Not all providers raise prices automatically—Blacknight don’t!
  • Shorter-Term Contracts: Shorter term contracts or no-term contracts gives you flexibility and control over your costs.

Thinking About Switching? Now’s the Time

If you’re feeling the squeeze from rising broadband costs, now might be the perfect time to make a change. Most price increases happen in April, so if you’re signing up for a new deal, consider the timing. Switching before an increase could save you from an unnecessary hike, we can help you make it a smooth and worry-free process at Blacknight.
