Fairtrade Fortnight

fairtrade fortnight
Tomorrow marks the beginning of Fair Trade Fortnight which promotes the use of fairtrade products.
According to FairTrade‘s press office consumers are switching over more and more with global sales up by 40% and Irish sales up by a massive 75%.
Here at Blacknight we’ve been using FairTrade coffee for the last couple of months. It costs a small bit more than the “normal” brand, but not so much that we’d really notice.
If you’re interested in finding shops or cafes in your area that support Fair Trade check out the locator map on their site (there’s also an option to add listings).
I don’t believe in mixing business and politics, but if choosing which brand of coffee to buy for the office will help producers then I don’t see why we shouldn’t make that small little change in our buying habits.
