Today, we’re sharing some exciting news about the future of Blacknight. 

Blacknight is joining the Your.Online family, a group of founder-led digital businesses. This marks an important milestone in our journey and opens up new opportunities for growth, investment, and innovation. 

Most importantly, Blacknight remains Blacknight. 

Michele Neylon and Paul Kelly will continue to lead the company, our team remains in place, and the services and support our customers rely on every day will continue exactly as before. 

From a House in Carlow to Customers Around the World 

When Michele and Paul founded Blacknight in 2003, the goal was simple: help businesses and individuals build their presence online. 

What started as a small hosting business operating from a house in Carlow has grown into Ireland’s leading domain registrar and one of the country’s most trusted digital infrastructure providers. 

Today, we serve more than 90,000 customers across Ireland and in over 170 countries worldwide. We employ almost 60 people, operate infrastructure from multiple locations across Ireland, and continue to support businesses, developers, organisations, and entrepreneurs with domains, hosting, cloud services, email, colocation, and much more. 

While a lot has changed over the last two decades, the values that built Blacknight have remained remarkably consistent: putting customers first, investing in reliable infrastructure, supporting the wider internet community, and building for the long term. 

Why We’re Taking This Step 

As Blacknight has grown, we’ve always focused on building sustainable, reliable services for our customers. 

Joining Your.Online gives us access to a wider network of expertise, resources, and investment while allowing us to remain independent and continue operating under the Blacknight brand. 

In practical terms, this means we will be better positioned to invest in our infrastructure, expand our services, strengthen security, and continue delivering the level of service our customers expect. 

We chose this path because it allows us to continue growing without compromising the values and culture that have defined Blacknight since day one.
