StartUp Ireland Goes Virtual and Returns for 2022

It’s a new year, and many folks may have a new idea for a hot new internet start-up. Good news then! StartUp Ireland is back next week and has gone virtual – the perfect opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge you need to get your start-up off the ground.

About the event:

Ireland’s largest New Year start-up show returns this January, promising to inspire hundreds of would-be entrepreneurs and support those who have already launched a business. In its second year, StartUp is hosted by Enterprise Nation, the small business network, and sponsored by Amazon and Cisco. It will run online for 2022 in a bid to reach as many entrepreneurs as possible across Ireland.

The pandemic has led to an unprecedented growth in start-ups – new business registrations were up 28% in 2021. In addition, thousands of small businesses are now moving online in response to lockdowns. These are the enterprises that StartUp 2022 is designed to support.

Aimed at aspiring or existing entrepreneurs, StartUp 2022 is a chance to not only discover everything entrepreneurs need to know about starting and growing a business, but also to connect with advisers and experts who’ll help take an enterprise to the next level.

StartUp 2022 takes place virtually on Friday 14th January 2022.  A full day of talks, panel discussions, workshops and a pitch competition are planned. Expert and entrepreneur speakers will share their top tips and secrets to success

There’s a great roster of speakers who will be there to impart their knowledge on start-ups – including:

  • Naomh McElhatton, CEO of Stimul.ai and listed by Irish Times as one of top 5 entrepreneurs to watch
  • Seany McCleary, founder of Streat School
  • Niamh Sterling, founder of Recipe Guru
  • Amanda Webb & Jacinta Dempsey, Accredited Facebook Trainers
  • Sharon Keilthy, Jiminy Eco Toys
  • Cathal O’Reilly, Narcissips
  • Cathal Sheridan, Huku boards
  • Aine Rogers, Cisco
  • Joyce Rigby Jones, Voltedge
  • Michael McDowell, Seedlegals

Emma Jones, Founder of Enterprise Nation, said in a statement:

“We’re thrilled that our flagship event will be returning for its second year this January, with exceptional guest speakers. Through StartUp 2022, we want to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and give existing business owners the tools and confidence they need to grow their companies throughout 2022. With the events now online, we can deliver great content to even more people from all parts of Ireland.  Attendees will hear from entrepreneurs who’ve been there and done it, practical experts, support providers, and the world’s largest platform players. All content will be recorded so you can playback sections at any time. Attendees can virtually access the speakers on the main stage, the exhibition, and networking space.”
