Have You Got Your .EU?

We’re often asked by people about which domain names they should register for their business. This time round we’re going to have a look at .eu

What is .eu?

The .eu domain is the domain name for the European Union

Why should I get a .eu domain name?

If you’re doing business across Europe and don’t want to get ALL the various European domain extensions then a .eu domain is the logical choice.

Some big companies, like Sony, use their .eu domain to act as their EU portal.

Who can get a .eu domain?

Anyone with an address in the European Union qualifies.
You don’t need any paperwork and registration is practically instant.

What about my contact details?

If you are a private individual your details are protected and are NOT published in public WHOIS

Even if you are a business user your details will be a lot safer under .eu, as their WHOIS server does NOT include contact details that are easily abused.

The best things about .eu in my opinion – simplicity when registering, and privacy regarding the WHOIS information!
