Get Your Submissions in for the Congregation Unconference in County Mayo!

We’re just under two months out from the annual Congregation event, held every year in Cong, County Mayo. This ‘unconference’ is a three-day mind mesh festival of thinking, sharing, and connecting. Blacknight is a sponsor of this fascinating event and has been for several years. This uniquely Irish event has been going on for several years now, and Blacknight has been a big supporter. It’s great at bringing Ireland’s thought leaders together and fostering new ideas.

This year’s event will take place from November 24 to the 26th. It starts on Friday with a gathering at Ashford Castle. Then, on Saturday, the ‘unconference’ takes place with breakout groups and workshops. Sunday is a social day with a special group tour planned.

The base is Ashford Castle, in the pretty tourist village of Cong. The village is soaked in history and culture but is also situated on the edge of the beautiful Cong Forest, with marked trails for those taking a break. The event will finish with a narrated cruise on Lough Corrib on Sunday.

To attend the conference, you must submit an entry about this year’s theme – it can be a blog post, video, or audio file. You can’t buy a ticket to attend the conference; you must submit something and be selected to attend.

This year’s theme is ‘Reality.’ Put your thinking cap on and think about ideas from different perspectives regarding reality.

There is no hard deadline for submissions, but they usually close the last week before the ‘unconference’ in November. Organisers encourage you to submit your entry early in case all the spots fill up (attendance is limited to keep the groups small).

If you’re unable to attend in person, there will be a way to attend virtually, a holdover innovation from the pandemic, when the conference was held completely virtually.
