APWG.EU’s Tech Summit Is Back to Keep the Internet Safe for All

Cybercrime researchers and industry responders will gather at Technological College Dublin on June 21st and 22nd to fight cybercrime that threatens commerce and culture globally. The internet is polluted with malware, spam, bots, and other harmful programmes that want to steal your data. So, it’s important to keep the internet safe as anyone can fall victim to being scammed online.

APWG.EU’s Tech Summit and Researchers Sync-Up will present state-of-the-art research into cybercrime investigations, forensic techniques and infrastructure defence against cyber-attacks and manipulation. Attendees will look at various parts of cybercrime such as technical, legal, political, social and psychological aspects of fraud and fraud prevention. They’ll also look at case studies and examples of how we can learn from them to avoid future cybercrime attacks. Not only that, but new types of threats and the opportunities available for combatting them will be discussed.

The two-day event will have speakers including Chris Gibson, the Executive Director of FIRST, and Pr. Kevin Curran of Ulster University. Other representatives from Interpol, ICANN, Mastercard and more will be present, along with interactive panels. This year’s program includes a chalk-talk research session called ‘the Researchers’ Sync-Up’ – A moderated chalk-talk where leading investigators and interdisciplinary innovators discuss their next five years of cybercrime research.

The full line-up and more information can be found on APWG.EU’s website. Will you be attending?
