Earlier in the year, we ran a competition with the .EU Registry for any club in Ireland to win brand new kit worth €2,000. We asked the public to enter their favourite club, then we gathered the finalists and opened up the voting to select the winner. Out of the hundreds of clubs that were entered, the final winners were St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh GAA Club’s U8’s team.
The team were delighted to have won, and their new kit has now been presented to the team. We gave each member a new training top and half zip. Their mascot, Ollie, was delighted to have won and to present the kit to the team. As the days get shorter and colder, the team’s new kit should keep them comfy while they train for their upcoming matches and when they’re out and about.
We worked with a local supplier, JF Sports to create the tops and half zips. The end result looked great and encompassed the club’s colours that are easily recognisable.
At Blacknight, we’re all about the community and bringing people together. That’s why we love supporting clubs around the country and were so happy we could give St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh the chance to get their new kit that will last them for a long time, and so they can promote the club in the community.
Barbara Grennell, PRO of the club, said:
“St Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh are delighted to be the winners of the prize of €2000 worth of sports kit in the Blacknight competition. Our U8 boys team was entered by one of the mothers and in the true fashion of our small club, everyone supported the competition enabling the win. 50 boys now having their own training top and half zip has united this squad of players visually, improved the confidence of all the players and the delight of the parents involved with this huge squad. Thank you again to Blacknight for their support.”
We at Blacknight will continue to support as many clubs and teams around the country as we can to bring communities together. Even though majority of our services are online, it’s so important to be able to connect with those around you offline. Keep an eye out on our blog for more.
