Why Blacknight is Back at Bloggerconf!

Blacknight sponsors Bloggerconf 2017!

Bloggerconf has announced that they will hold only one event this year, on May 6 in Dublin’s Mansion House. It will be their biggest event so far, in a larger venue, building on the success of the last two years.

Blacknight is back as a sponsor for this year’s event, and we’ll also be speaking.

Bigger and Busier than Ever

Last year I gave a wide ranging talk about the technical stuff bloggers need to know, including: website backup and monitoring; making social media work for you (not the other way around); SEO and digital marketing; and why you should own your own domain name.

With a bigger busier Bloggerconf, speaking time is at a premium, and Emma has invited us to give a shorter talk. It’s an opportunity to focus on a single point  – maybe two – and deliver some short, sharp value.

Of course Blacknight staff will be available to answer questions on any topic at our stand in the Mansion House. The message we took from last year’s event was that Irish bloggers are engaged and enthusiastic. And they are primed to take full advantage of a face-to-face encounter.

For a web hosting company, meeting face-to-face is an opportunity for us as well. Last year we spoke to dozens of you at the Blacknight stand. We encountered a blogging community that is determined to put its best foot forward online.

So, while we’re still working on what we’re going to say on stage, we’re already planning to beef up our presence at the back of the hall. We’ll be bringing extra staff to Bloggerconf 2017. We’ll talk to bloggers, one-on-one, and help them find the best technical solutions to build their audiences.

Who is Bloggerconf For?

Who is Bloggerconf for? Organiser Emma O’Farrell says it’s for anyone who blogs or wants to start a blog, who works in digital media, or who wants to learn more about influencer marketing and how working with influencers can help your business. Bloggerconf is a chance to connect with like-minded individuals and make new friends.

Sinéad Keavey of law firm William Fry, and Keith Browning from LinkedIn have also been announced as speakers for Bloggerconf 2017.

We’re Blogging This

We’ll be blogging about Bloggerconf in the weeks ahead, bringing you coverage of our own plans, and news about the event in general. We’ve asked Bloggerconf founder Emma O’Farrell to be our guest on the Blacknight podcast, to give a behind-the-scenes view as the biggest ever Bloggerconf takes shape. And we’ll be taking part in Irish blogger forums and discussions in the lead up to May 6.

As for you, now’s your chance to let us know what you’d like to hear us talk about at Bloggerconf 2017. Blog security and anti-hacking? WordPress tips and plugins? Social media secrets? SEO and marketing? Video, audio, or graphics?

What is the one point, or perhaps two, that you’d like us to talk about at Bloggerconf 2017? Just a leave comment below, or let us know on Facebook or Twitter (@Blacknight #Bloggerconf).

Then go get your tickets for Bloggerconf 2017! We’ll see you there!
