Why the State of Vermont Decided to Give a Grant for Remote Workers [Video]

John O'Duinn advises companies on managing distributed teams. He spoke at GrowRemote in Tubbercurry.

Earlier this year we sponsored GrowRemote, the volunteer movement which seeks to revitalise communities by encouraging remote working. We attended the conference they held in Tubbercurry in April and met people with good ideas for business and community development.

One of those is John O’Duinn. He advises companies around the world on how to manage distributed teams. And he’s also advised governments on how to use remote working as a tool for development. One of those is the US state of Vermont, and in this video he explains what led them to create a grant scheme for remote workers.

We’ll have more videos from Tubbercurry over the next few weeks here on Blacknight.blog. We’ll also be looking ahead to GrowRemote‘s First Anniversary party, The Meitheal, which is on in Kinvara, County Galway on 1 November.
