It seems like they are employing scare-tactics to justify their inflated prices. Ooh look we’re “safer” than all the other gangsters out there who are trying to steal your money. They are preying on people’s fear.
The fact of the matter is, that .ies aren’t that safe at all. Their “know who you are dealing with” campaign is misleading, as anyone can register a business name with the CRO (without verifying their identity) and they will be automatically granted their .ie.
Also, since .ie transfers do not proceed via EPP/email verification, anyone can mock-up a business letterhead and poach a .ie domain.
Secure they are not.
For me as I’ll potentially have to work with them I find it strange that all the companies selling IE domains will potentially have all the same graphics / same themes if they go with these?
Also having a business idea and actually being able to register the domain are two entirely different things if you’re not registered as a sole trader or ltd company more often than not.
I don’t understand Secure and Stable in relation to ie domains. Sure there are some unsecure unstable ones out there ( what potentially / happened with .ly for example )
I really don’t understand the crime ones. It’s not like it’d be that difficult to pick up a .ie domain if you really wanted under false pretenses.

The gaphics are a bit silly really and .ie domains can be hacked for phishing etc the same as any other tld.

If I saw the second one out of context, at first glance, before reading anything, I’d think it was for Irish Rail (not sure why, think it’s the font maybe).

It’s also misleading though – the only verification the IEDR do is checking business names, they do n’t go vetting the people behind them!

I agree, they are definitely not safer. I guess this whole process with CRO was only designed to bring few extra quid for them and not to prevent the ‘bad guys’ getting local domains.
The third last one looks like Enda Kenny’s hand and map is focused on Dublin, or is that just an i.e. ‘That is’…!!!

To break it down to each image to start with.
First image, for me graphically isn’t quite strong enough, too much white space, Jigsaw photo-shopped terrible and doesn’t even look like it would fit together. (Pedantic i know but if you’re going to do something then do it correctly.)
Second image as previously said looks like an advertisement for Irish Rail or AA road-watch at a quick first glance and is confusing as to its target audience. Strangely though this is the only one that doesn’t try to convince you that IE domains are safest.
Third image, again is badly photo-shopped and the writing on the card looks too fake.
Fourth & Fifth have me lost as to why they would even go that direction. Stupid graphics in my opinion.
Who ad campaign shown above is very busy, with the exception of the first one and possible the third one. They are out their concepts but just don’t seem to work, for me anyway.
