This is a special notice to Blacknight customers about Microsoft Office 365 products. Microsoft recently went through a rebrand of their line-up of products. And while this would normally not warrant any particular comment – rebrands happen all the time – we’ve had some questions about the name changes – so we thought it prudent to say something.
Some customers are understandably confused, as it looks like they bought one thing and are now being billed for something else. There is nothing to worry about. It’s just a name change, because Office 365 is no longer ‘a thing.
From April 2020, Office 365 is now known as Microsoft 365
Here’s a complete breakdown of what’s changed:
- Office 365 Business Essentials has become Microsoft 365 Business Basic
- Office 365 Business Premium has become Microsoft 365 Business Standard
- Microsoft 365 Business has become Microsoft 365 Business Premium
- Office 365 Business and Office 365 ProPlus will both become Microsoft 365 Apps. Where necessary, they will use “for business” and “for enterprise” labels to distinguish between the two.
If you were an existing customer of any of the Office 365 products, your invoices and billing will already reflect these changes. You don’t have to do anything on your end. The products have not materially changed; just the names have changed. The name changes ocurred on the Blacknight website a few months ago, but some people are just now starting to notice on their recurring invoices that there was a change.
For full details on the change, please see our Microsoft 365 page that has the current packages with their new names: Microsoft Office 365 – Any time, any place with Blacknight
So, nothing to worry about. The pricing hasn’t changed, the product hasn’t changed, just the names have changed. They will probably stay like this for a while now. If that changes, we will, of course, let everyone know.
