Sligo has been chosen as Ireland’s Digital Town 2019 under the scheme run by the IE Domain Registry. The leading registrar of .IE names, Blacknight will participate in the programme of events in September and October.
Now in its second year, the Digital Town initiative promotes awareness and use of the internet in Ireland by citizens, businesses and communities. It also highlights the benefits and possibilities of the internet, and celebrates the digital achievements of an Irish town.
As well as technology experts like Blacknight and IEDR, the programme involves a wide range of stakeholders and community groups, including the County Council, Local Enterprise Office, Chamber of Commerce, Business Improvement District (BID), South Sligo Smart Community and Sligo IT.
On Tuesday 25 September I’ll be representing Blacknight in a lunchtime event at Sligo Town Hall entitled Digital Tools to Save Time and Money in Your Business. Introduced by Newstalk Radio’s Tech Correspondent, Jess Kelly, this event is free to attend, but pre-registration is essential.
